This is one of those images that are, perhaps, taken sub-consciously. I was wandering around the Quayside in Newcastle, snapping architectural shots, when I had an overwhelming urge to point the camera actoss the river and capture the top of the Sage Centre for Arts. At the time, I think it was the lighting in the clouds that caught my eye, but I can't be sure. It wasn't 'til I got home and uploaded the images to my computer that I realised there were a pair of circling birds in the centre of the frame, changing this from a bland capture to something with a bit of contextual substance.
Or, perhaps, it was a total accident and the whole bird-capturing was fluke. It's not for me to suggest which is actually the case.
For the incessantly curious. Arnemetia is a Celtic goddess of the sea. I was given the idea that the building looks like a hip, so I ran with it a little. It's certainly a better title than 'Artificial Seas', which was the original name given to this piece.
