Project2010: 022 of 375 (January 12th)

Apologies for the delay in submission: I've been experimenting with new digital styles from my photography and it has taken me a couple of days to achieve results which are presentable. However, each of the forthcoming images was at least started on the right date even if it took a while to finish them.

There's no print option as my re-sampling isn't producing perfect squares. Until I can rectify this I won't offer prints as the angles and points don't quite align all along the matrix. Transforming would probably help fix that issue but I'm more interested in continuing the creative process than fine-tuning at this point.

The title comes from the average tonal value of the piece, and will continue throughout this series of works that investigate angles and stratification.

Also, because it occurs to me I might well have forgotten to say this:
I am really liking these. They are fascinating and surprising.

Heh, thank-you for that; I'm glad you do. I'm enjoying the freedom of making them, it's nice to have something other than photography to play around with. I still need to work out how to perfect it so that I can make print-quality examples but that's something to do later. Probably much later.

I am willing to bet that I've used this palette. It looks incredibly familiar...

Heh, well done. Do you have your inbox sorted by artist or date? If it's the former they might not have been showing at first as it's rather buggy.

Thank-you for taking the time to comment, it's appreciated. It's a new process that I've devised; there'll be a whole series of them eventually.

Very nice Indeed. I dont really have a "process" for anything, but i figure that will come in time :D. I am looking forward to the whole set.

Heh, I've never really had a process per se, but my mind works in cold hard geometry so it was a matter of time and inevitability that I'd start somewhere. In that case, I shall try not to disappoint. Ahah.

Everything is mathematics once you get down to it: chaos theory is fairly awesome in that respect. ;D

There's a smoothness to this. The muted colours work well with each other.

Yeah, it seems to work better if the original image has a fairly large tonal range. There's likely to be another one produced this evening as I'm bereft of photographic or literary cues.
