for the lives of those
who shuffle, dead on their feet:
already fated to fall; in the Fall-
out of their deceit.

Shadows dance
across scarred lands
and the concrete monoliths
that stand as stoic memorial-markers
for thrown springs and entropy --

in fast-forward reverie-reflections
as days pass in moments:
the blinding complexity of life

of crashing stars
and streetlamps:

The blinding
city lights
are sulphurous flares
of firefly-life;
galaxies of stars,
all burning bright.

Yet,

For every shine
there's shadow,
for every light
there's a
darkness below;

A black-hole soul
in a cage of control,
silently waiting
for a brighter
tomorrow.

SkylinedBodies
run sightlessly
from lush greenery to
numb, blasted scenery that's

Borne of man
and the poisoned Earth:
a pandemic
of geometric steel fungii
that cast sulphurous illumination
'gainst wan daylight skies.

Far below,
faceless forms

Walk
head-down,
single-file,
loveless and broken
through skylined neurosis

Alone, to a safe haven

That's risen
like a prison block;
a blank monument
to humanity and the quiet
terrors of life...

A Last DanceRagged hills
bear witness to decay
in the great passage of time:
of dreams, that bleach
like old photographs;

Curling into themselves
like the old men
who wander
disconsolately

From a door,
to a field
and back again.

They are the
ancient surveyors.
Their eyes
see not the ravaged surrounds
that hinder each falter'd step;
but rather, the visions of
great halls; of many merry men and women
pirouetting through the pressing stream
of music and conversation,
eyes alight in the bright
nights of their blossoming.

Yet,
like their photos,
their mind's eye wavers:

A sulphurous glow
hangs heavy about crowded structures,
midnight traders and nocturnal crowds. Barters call;
nameless wares exchange, and shrouded forms swarm
amongst the miasmic illumination; all becoming
a twisted carnival to the senses.

The City never sleeps.

Far beyond the frantic core of big-top attractions,
hollow steps echo through abandoned alleyways
and towering constructs of an Imperial arrogance:
old paths to glory, left to moulder without thought
in the enveloping veils of Night.

Darkness invokes the ageless cold:
coil-spiralled winter winds which wind
through sullen archways, whispering secre

After a few days away from home I'm once again behind with submissions; this'll get worse in the coming week as I'm not going to be around. I'm still keeping up with the creation, however.

The title comes from the Blindead track of the same name, which can be heard here. It's a piece for those who enjoy the likes of Neurosis and Cult Of Luna.
