Or, Deathsong.
The North Sea is historically known as the Morimaru, the sea of the dead: an inhospitable and ice-strewn threshold between the living world and the afterlife, skirted by barren and otherworldly landscapes. Deathsong is a three-part collection of colour photography that centres upon the deconstruction of form and focus, drawing inspiration from the harsh coastline it portrays.
The title is taken from the Ulver composition of the same name, and can be heard here.
