I guess this is something about fading away in the country. The countryside itself being lost before the onslaught of suburbia. Lonliness. Solitude. That sort of thing, y'know?
Shiremoor, until recently, was a ghost village of burnt-out pensioners and the worst that the youth of today had to offer. It's like the place was stuck in some miserable time-loop of the Thatcherite years. Dark, grimy, dirty and forlorn.
This picture was captured whilst walking my (late) dog. With the post-work, it pretty-much sums up how I felt at the time. This was close to being placed in Photo-manipulation, but the only alterations were of colour balance rather than the composition itself; so in Photography it stays.
