Saturday Spotlight: Volume 015An Interview with-ra-gro:iconra-gro:ra-gro's Gallery> Please introduce yourself, in your own words. What are your interests?Hallo. My name is Ralf, I'm 45 years old, and I'm from Bremen in Germany. My interests are primarily music and photography, along with movies and painting.> Where did you begin with artistic endeavours? How did you come across Abstraction or Surrealism? At first I started with abstract traditional painting as a means to express myself. As I reached my limits in that medium I experimented more and more with abstract and surreal photography, but now it's more the post-poressing of those images towards digital painting that f

Daily Deviation Report: April 2013Hallo, and welcome to my April Daily Deviation Report. What follows is a comprehensive feature of the Daily Deviations that I featured during the month of April 2013 in the Abstract and Surreal categories. This month, as with the last, has been a difficult one for me in terms of my staff responsibilities, due to one computer breaking and another having continued teething troubles. I apologise for not being as active since February in terms of comments and correspondence, but hopefully this will change in the coming days and weeks. In terms of this collection, all of these images caught my eye in some way; whether it be through technical perfection, compositional intrigue, or the concept within. I am proud to present these works, and I applaud the relevant artists for their dedication and inspiration.April 1st in AbstractStarry night by *PansaSunavee:bigthumb1

Saturday Spotlight: Volume 033An Interview with-scheinbar:iconscheinbar:scheinbar's Gallery> Please introduce yourself, in your own words. What are your interests?I started with painting and drawing quite early in life; I always had a pencil or brush in my hands. Later on, I began to work with photography and although I had a huge SLR I didn't have enough time to use it because of family and work commitments and so on. This delayed my progress into photography for about a decade. With the advent of digital cameras, taking pictures has become far easier for me. So, recently, with more time and easier-to-use technology I started again with photography, and this time succeeded. I also spend my ti

Saturday Spotlight: Volume 007An Interview with-Dylou-Lee:iconDyloulee:Dyloulee's Gallery> Please introduce yourself, in your own words. What are your interests?I don't consider myself as a photographer, but rather as an image-maker. I always love art. Whether it is the visual arts such as painting or photography, but also music and literature. I love dreams and I need to get away from it all.> Where did you begin with artistic endeavours? How did you come across Abstraction or Surrealism?I'm totally self-taught and I got to photography and digital art intuitively. In my youth, I used to make collages; that's really fun. BEST OF 2012Please don't be hurt. This is a subjective game. However these images are part of my favorites for the year 2012.Images that I would like to have on my walls. It was so hard to choose just one. Thank you for helping me with your answers to my three polls.I wish you once again a very good year in 2013. Be creative, and above all, be happy in your art.
