Memphis, Tennessee isn't exactly a hotbed of post-rock talent, but Glorie bucks the trend in quite spectacular fashion. Their predominantly string and key-led sound has an impressive sense of urgency which is reflected in the comparatively short running times of their tracks, particularly evident in their latest release. A consistently impressive collective, well-worth checking out - for those who absolutely require a starting point, try Run Away from Falling.

First I want to say, for people that don't know me, my name is ~Yuunari and I make both UTAU and Hetaloid covers.

Second, I just posted my second Hetaloid cover ಥ⌣ಥ I'm very proud of it. Both of the video as well as the cover itself. It's a cover of the vocaloid song "I Don't Care Who, Somebody Go Out with Me!" by England. If you're wondering what the song's about, just look at the title (・∀・ )

Third, since I don't have a lot of inspiration at the moment... You guys can request Hetaloid songs from me.
As long as the song is Japanese, isn't too fast (no faster as I Don't Care Who, Somebody Go Out with Me!) and an official off vocal version exists of it, you request any song.

^{This week, a band that has since lurched into the mainstream with a generic indie-rock sound but started out as a melancholic, expansive, and at times emotionally crushing outfit. Hailing from Nova Scotia, Wintersleep's first two albums contain an eloquent, emotional sensibility that demands a repeat listen. Personal highlights from the first album include Assembly Lines and Motion, while Insomnia and A Long Flight stands out from their untitled second release.

Wintersleep's third album, Welcome to the Night Sky also contains some tracks that I enjoy, but by then their sound was leaning towards radio play with a lot of their epic sound and melancholy emotion stripped out to leave a slightly jaunty acoustic/indie-rock aesthetic, and as such, I can't recommend it as highly as their first two releases.

Now, I know the discussion of music can be an emotionally charged subject for some people, but I'm not claiming that anything is better than anything else. This is no more than a soap-box for me to promote music that I enjoy; maybe you'll like it, maybe you won't. That's fine!

If you've any recommendations based on this artist, or wish to promote some music that you yourself enjoy, please do so in the comments. Maybe I'll end up enjoying something enough to feature it myself.}
